You’ll leave this fraud presentation armed with steps you can take to protect your heart and your money.scam 2

Join us for a free webinar on Friday, April 23, 2021 at 10:00 AM PT | 7:00 AM ET. Experts from the Office of the Attorney General, the Federal Trade Commission and Oregon Adult Protective Services will highlight the red flags to help you spot a scammer.

In our socially distanced world, people are making friends and potential love interests online through dating sites, social media, or mobile apps. But not everyone is who they say they are online. Scammers target your heart and your wallet.

According to a report issued by the Federal Trade Commission in November, there were nearly 16 million complaints about scams that started on social media sites from April through June, and losses of $56 million. The figures reflect a 13-fold increase in complaints — and eightfold jump in losses from previous years.

You’ll leave this session armed with steps you can take to protect your heart and your money!

This event is brought to you by AARP Oregon, the Oregon Office of the Attorney General and the Oregon Department of Consumer and Business Services, Department of Financial Regulation, in collaboration with the Oregon Department of Human Services Adult Protective Services and the Federal Trade Commission.
